Neutral will do the trick -- the only time the converter doesn't charge is when it's shifted into Park.

I would suggest dropping tranny pan. If TC is shelled, you will see the evidence in the pan.

ok the tranny shop just called me and said nothings wrong.they said no codes showed up and the truck didnt do anything when they drove it and the fluid is ok.so then why did my truck shake and not move for 20 seconds the other day?i brought it to a mechanic and now and tranny shop and since theres no codes showing there all saying nothings wronb but there is.you have to drive the truck some times for 20 min or sometimes it doesnt do anything.also my truck jerks me forwars up hills.there has to be a reason why it did this.would there be anything besides the troq converter that would make the truck shake and no move for a few seconds?my truck did have an idle issue when its cold something when the trucks warming up the idle will go slow low the truck will stale out.what you think the problem is no one can figure it out.

 

If this is something that comes on about a minute or two after cold start and goes away after the engine warms some more, it's almost certainly a failed oxygen sensor.

No one mentioned pressure testing the thing? If no pressure tests have been done, then no troubleshooting has been done.
