No vehicle will keep from getting stuck if it just hangs up. As far as falling into ruts (which i know all about) goes only way to fix that is more ground clearance which means lift and bigger tires. If you dont plan on bigger tires and use your truck like this a lot a locker front and back might be a good option for you.

haha wow man... i did that once in high school i still have the truck tho its a 84 blazer lifted on 44s everyone was getting stuck in this one hole..i even got stuck about 4 time hitting it at 10-30mph the mud hole was about 30 feet long 14-16 feet wide and about 4 deep of clay mud.. i hit the hole doing a soild 50mph and broke a steering knuckle and bent my tie rods and stabilizer lol....

that was the last time i hate a mud hole faster

Check Craigslist, I have a buddy just picked up about a four year old, very seldom used Warn M8000 for his Jeep Wrangler for $325. When we were installing it, the most I could find wrong with it was a bit of faded paint from the sun.
Another good source would be Jeep and off-road specific forums, but the problem there is if it's not local, shipping is stupid high on a 70-100 lb. winch...

Well that's true to a certain degree, as long as you keep moving and do not hesitate your chances of getting stuck are low

Yep.

First rule of off-roading. DON'T stop. If you think you are going to get stuck, and stop, you just got stuck.

Second Rule, put it in 4x4 range you think you are going need BEFORE you actually need it.
