Default No Throttle Responce ?

When driving up a hill at about 65mph.

Driving along about 1/2 throttle and it starts loosing speed up hill,
"normal with any vehicle". So I start increasing throttle but there seems to be no responce from about 1/2 throttle to 3/4 throttle. No speed increase, no change in rpm's, no change in engine sound, "nothing".
Increase throttle to the point of down shift and it picks up speed.
Is this normal, no throttle responce from 1/2 - 3/4 throttle ?

Check TPS first. Have you fixed the plenum? how old are the O2 sensors?

Being in overdrive, you are prolly running about 1700 or so RPM at 65? You should feel something when you start giving it more gas.... might also wanna consider checking the TV cable adjustment.

What HeyYou said, but keep in mind that overdrive is meant only for unladen cruising at highway speed on flat ground. Once you're into a hill, mash the button to get back into direct drive.

Have not yet fixed Plenum, will do after Christmas.
02 sensor looks original and two of the wires have a bare spot right where they go into the sensor. I'm running 1,800 at 65mph.
Not sure how to check the TPS or adjust the TV cable.
From 1/2 to 3/4 throttle I can feel a little when on flat ground, but nothing pulling a hill.

The procedures are in a Haynes manual. And the appropriate free service manual download in the FAQ/DIY section.
