P0753 - Transmission Overdrive
The first time, the answer is always no. The original trans work should have included a 12/12 warranty with it. You need to chat with the other shop where the trans was replaced, and ask them if what the previous shop had done, could have contributed to the failure.
I would ask another trans shop as well. Let them have a look at how things are wired now, and see what their opinion is. What did the second shop determine was wrong with the trans? (did they tear it down to inspect? Or, just crate it up and send it on it's way??)
Armed with the additional info, I would actually CALL Chrysler, and chat with a living human being.....

There was a 12/12 warranty from the first Dodge dealership. But, the second Dodge dealership service manager said that was electronic and replacing the transmission was mechanical. The mechanic that actually worked on it said that the wire could have caused problems, but they left it exactly the way it was before they worked on it ! The service manager said it was not anything that the first Dodge dealership did. Go figure !
According to them, the heat shield was causing the grinding noise. The mechanic pulled the transmission and tried to remove the torque convertor. He said that nothing he did would remove it. That is when they told me I had to replace the whole transmission.
I will take it to another transmission shop and ask them about that wire. It still makes me nervous that it seems to bypass everything. Does anyone have a wire schematic for a 2000 Ram Van transmission wiring? I only have a 2001 manual and it is not exactly like the 2000.
