Hope it helps. If not, pm Aims. I'm pretty sure he has an msd box on his rig.

had one on my old truck i felt a difference mainly in startup and mpgs and a little bit down low. If your looking to make big power for the money this is not the way to go but if your doing it as a supporting mod it works wonders. for me the box cost less than $200 so it is worth it with the lil mpg gains and lil hp

Thank you for allowing me to hijack this a bit. I have a completely stock 5.2L. I am going to do VERY little to it, I am looking to up my mpg and get some more torque. What sort of mods work best with the MSD box? Thanks

I have one, it is simple:

1. Cut your ignition wires about 10 inches from the coil plug.
2. Connect ignition wires to box wires (ones from diagram that has the ignition signal sent TO the box, green/orange to red, and black to white)
3. Connect ignition wires (10 inches and plug) to the wires that come OUT of the box (diagram green/orange to red, black to black).
4. Connect the MSD box pos and neg wires to the battery.
5. Use 3M double sided tape to attach your 6AL box to the top of your PDC cover.
**Easy way to know the correct colors is to connect the black to black and white to black**
That is how I did it. You can either CUT the wires that are supposed to go to the distributor.
With the quick connects, it takes me 5 mins to take my MSD in and out of the truck. 2 mins to just do a disconnect.
Be prepared to not notice much other than it takes 3 turns longer to start your truck. I only have it in there because it looks cool. No increase in MPGs. BUT, you get better acceleration at WOT.
The Non-professional MSD systems don't work like people think they do. MSD started making crap after they went mainstream. People think they burn all the fuel in the chamber. THat is impossible....it would mean detonation. The more fuel the ignition burns, then the more fuel has to be put in to ensure the right mixture.
You won;t notice any power difference. Maybe smoother acceleration.
BTW, I also put male/female ends on all my connections so I could disconnect the box QUICKLY if it ever went out. Solder all connections as well.
