Yeah, that's it. And I have another question.
Some places say the egr is from 92-96 and others say 92-97. My truck is a 97. Do you know what year they stopped the egr?

You can use an EGR manifold as well and block off the port, as many others have done.
some 96's used the EGR manifold from the factory with a block off plate on them,i guess they still had many left over to use until they changed the casting in mid 96.

Yes, but not much by itself. Like the Air Gap, on a totally stock engine you will lose some low end torque but you gain a good amount of top end, which the kegger severely lacks. When combined with some supporting parts, especially a tune, but also thing's like 1.7RRs, that low end torque will return. I've driven an identical truck to mine except a 98, bone stock, and mine has more ***** at every RPM.
