the plate style coolers absolutely DO slow the flow.. it reduces it to a bunch of tiny passages where as the tube meandering through the fins doesn't reduce flow rates..

I purchased a tube style, but tossed it for the plate style- because the plate style is what the factory uses..

I got mine from advanced for like 40 bucks. It's a little bigger than factory but they've got some big ones. I found one online that was good to like 30,000 gvw. It was flockin huge lol.

a stupid little $5 part that stops up and kills a $2000 transmission. its a one way check ball/spring contraption designed to prevent cooler drainback, which is not a problem in the first place. either remove it or drill it out.

Not a problem? Your right. Mine will drainback overnight though. When I start it in the morning or after been sitting for a few hours, I just go straight to neutral from park. Let it sit few about 30 seconds and off I go.

If you want to get rid of that, install a remote filter.

Really. This is the first I've heard about a "fix" for it. Although it doesn't bother me to sit for a few seconds, I may still look into doing this. Not to mention being better for the tranny.

Pretty slick, eh? The oil filter itself brings a check valve into the circuit.

Just be careful that you don't plumb it backwards -- that would force the check valve closed and lead to overheating right quick.

And easier on you, too. With the remote filter on duty, the filter in the pan is left to function only as a pickup tube and you only have to replace it after it's old enough that it might start decomposing. And if you've got (or put) a drain plug in the pan, you only have to open the pan when it's time to adjust the bands.

If you're one who likes the idea of full fluid changes, that extra hose under the hood makes it easy enough to do.

For plowing would you recommend one of the B&M's with the e-fan? I am also going to be going the e-fan route for my (coolant) radiator.

Jegs has the one with the 7" fan for around $45 less before shipping.
