Lots of variable but seemingly easy to get to to check out. Ill check it all later today and see what the deal is. I mean 2 plug wires on wrong and a stuck IAC I should expect anything.
On the upside I did take the intake off and put the NEW aluminum plenum plate in. Nope not the hughes......my father made one (yes CNC) so its now on this truck. Had a bolt broke off and ofcourse the gasket was shot and oil all over. Figured Id do the thermostat, intake/waterpump hose and ofcourse the waterpump while I was in there.
So by the time I get done it wont be the "winter beater" that it was meant to be.

Yeah i was i think an 8152 and ofcourse the 0311 when it counted.......then it became 0321. All great until ya get older.....then its time to hit the airwing and relax a bit, lol But hell i do miss it.........it was an awesome ride.

thanks all for the input on this gremlin fuel gauge. Hey if its haunted then there should be some awesome roadtrip stories in the future, lol

well checked all the grounds, did a scan on it. said sending unit was bad. Pulled the tank (3/4 full) so that sucked. Took the fuel pump etc out and bench tested it. cam up with 19.3 ohms and 221 ohms on the other end (empty/full). Sooo went to the JY and yanked one of of a truck. Took it back to the shop and guess what it didnt work. bench tested it and it tested out the same!

So $82 for a new sending unit or ??

Maybe you have a good relationship with parts store staff. Maybe they will break a box open and let you ohm it out and see what a new one reads?

I would assume that the JY one was bad also then. If your good friends with parts guy, won't they order one in for you to test?

That sounds about right. I don't remember the number they gave me but it was in that neighborhood when I made a new glove box part of the deal when I bought mine.
