Default Black Bumper Rubber turns Gray

I have a 98 Ram. The front and rear bumper "pads" (for lack of better term) turns a dull gray. I have tried several cleaners and shiners. Is there a better replacement for them? Thanks for your help.

My son used gator something on the cover of his Avalanche. Really made it look good. I'll see if I can find out what is is. I know it was expensive, but it worked wonders.

Could try Mothers Back to Black also. Or paint it. SEM Trim Black is made for this type of application. Or get some satin black (made for plastics).

I purchased this stuff from Ziebart, and I think they are the only ones that sell it. It works wonders. The detail guys there use it at the ziebart near me and the manager yells at them for using it because it costs 26 bucks for a 16 ounce spray bottle.

It is called 303 aerospace protectant. It can be used on vinyl, plastic, rubber, fiberglass and LEATHER.

I bought a bottle of this after getting the mothers stuff. The mothers stuff will cause smear marks on your paint when applying it, which is impossible to not do. Also, the mothers stuff only lasts a week.

This stuff lasts about a month before you need to reapply and never looks as bad as before. I use it on my harley all the time (all visible hoses, and even the paint!). Takes a bit more rubbing on the paint, but will not cause smears like the mothers stuff.

303 aerospace protectant (SPF40). You can buy it at ziebart. I use it and it is the only thing that has worked for me to restore my UV faded plastic. Works great on leather....holy Jesus it works great on leather!

That textured plastic cleaner looks good to use before using the 303 protectant I talked about. Most of the white film is actually dried up wax and cleaner from the carwash. Might have to be careful about getting it on the paint though.

I might try the cleaner out on my plastic parts and use the 303 after. The only reason I am not doing the coating you suggested is that I like 303 and don;t want to spend money testing something else when I know I have something that works.

THANKS!

My son did his Avalanche about 6 months ago right after he bought it. I saw it last weekend and it still looks like new. I asked him if he had to keep putting the gator stuff on and he said no. Just the once. (I am probably going to see if I can snag what he has left for my rear bumper pad......)

He used the spray. Cleaned it up very well. Plastic did not need the coating afterwards, although he bought the kit.
