Removed plenum, everything is filthy...what to do?
If I am decoding that right, he is advocating filling the oil pan with diesel, and starting the engine..... which is an EXTREMELY bad plan. Diesel does NOT have the same lubricating properties as oil, and you will munch up your motor in short order. At the very least, you are going to DRASTICALLY reduce its useful lifespan.
I've not used much kero for cleaning, gasoline seems to do the trick, also works GREAT for getting grease and crap off your hands, if you can stand to smell like gas for a little bit, anyways...
What if he were to drop the oil pan and clean out the motor with gas? Would it work any better then kero or kinda the same?
I put some gas in a degreaser spray bottle, and it works well with a little scrub brush for little hard to reach areas, but I've NOT done this for actual internal motor cleaning.
In my experience gas cleans well so just curious the negative or positive affects of using gas instead of a degreaser or kero.

I would drop the pan to get it all out. Plug is not in the lowest part and may leave a half cup to a cup of crud in there. Also, any solids that you flushed into it would still be in pan. Oil pan comes out pretty easy.
And puttin kerosene or diesel in engine and starting to clean out.....can't think of a better way to trash an engine...except run without any oil....

Should I refill with cheap oil after the cleaning and run it for a few mins then change again just to get any residue out?
