Default Front mount receiver hitch

Is it possible to mount a front mount receiver hitch to a 97 Dodge pickup that has a brush guard , and a 3 inch body lift on it? Thanks.

just be sure you tie it to the frame rails. just going from memory, i think the cross member itself is too weak for pulling and yanking the entire weight of the truck. otherwise its a great idea and you can use it for a hitch mounted winch that could be used in front or rear.

I have one on the Jeep and use it for all kinds of things from a home-made light bar, a home made fishing rod holder & the winch. I even have a sporting clay thrower that I've attached to it. A front receiver hitch is basically like a swiss army knife, anything you can weld a 2" square pipe to you can use on the front of the vehicle...

New rod holder for Christmas made by my Mom"s boyfriend. It's all stainless industrial conduit and 2" square tubing, painted black. He says I should have a hitch welded to my brush guard. I was thinking of going with a Front mount hitch I just don't know if my brush guard mount would interfere with the mounting of the hitch.

Check with places that sell trailers/trailer equipment in your area. You might be able to 'hold one up there' to test fit.

Don't mount it to the brush guard, mount it to the frame.

I bought a Warn for my Jeep, the Curt was about $50 cheaper but only had a rolling weight rating of like 4000 lbs while the Warn was 9000 lbs. Got it for just under $200 to the door off Amazon.com... I would assume the Curt would be made stronger for a large truck than it is for a 3800 Grand Cherokee, but you might want to make sure before you buy one...
