I have a 97 dodge ram 1500 and the middle seat never wants to go down. Just wondering if anybody else here has ran into this problem before and if so how you fixed it.

 

did you pull up on it before you tried to fold it down?

 

I have pushed, pulled, its like it gets stuck when folding it down but sometimes if I am lucky it comes down for some reason.

 

spray some penetrating oil on the hinges. they are probably siezed up a little bit

I have the same problem sometime. I have to hold it inbetween the two "locks" (where it stops when you push foward or backwards when its up) and hit it with my wrist or my other hand and pull it down all at the same time.

 

When you grab it to pull it down only slightly pull forward then go back about 1/4" then pull forward again. Its tricky.

 

What you guys describe is what exactly happens lol. The penetration oil did not help. Idk what is wrong with it i guess it just gets stuck.
