Question Normal Shift Speeds ?

46RE transmission. Can someone tell me the speed limits that are 'normal' for each speed on this transmission? 1, 2, 3, 4, and overdrive?

Thanks....

Depends on how hard you are stepping on the go-pedal. Should shift shortly before redline at WOT.

Do you think you have a problem?

The last shift you're feeling isn't actually a shift, it is the torque converter locking up.

Couldn't tell much by video. I did find this while researching some tranny issues. Use the 47RE selection. It will auto fill the gear ratios. You need to enterntire sizes. This may help you determine if you have a problem.

(have to paste it into browser - can't create a link from iPad!)

I think I am pretty observant.....but considering the difficulty of OP trying to shoot video and audio while driving, and the resulting quality, that I cannot hear very well on iPad, my point was the link to a site that appears to provide definite numbers to help OP and others with similar questions.

This thread is not the first with a similar question, as I have researched a number of them and not found definitive answer that met my needs. The link I provided answered my question and may answer the question for others......

I haven't payed attention to the speed on shifts at WOT, but feather footing it my 96 will shift at 10 to second, 20 to third, 30 to od and lock up at 43. This is with 3.55 gears.
Does this help?
