Default Sct help/questions

Just got a SCT from Hemifever the other day. I loaded the 93 tune and pinged BAD. So I loaded the 91 tune and it will still ping, just not as bad. The 87 doesn't ping at all.

I've been running 93 gas for over a year now.

I recently (couple weeks) changed back to a 192* stat for the better heat.

Now, I would like to run the 91 tune, but with the pinging I obviously can't.

What can be done so that I can run the 91 safely? It pings with 93 gas as it is.

Would changing back to the 180* stat make a big enough difference that I could run the 91 without problems?

Should I contact Sean about this to see what he has to say?

I'd rather not de-tune if I can help it.

If heat is not an issue, you could try the 180 I suppose. Your in Ohio, I'd leave the 195 in and see what Sean has to say.

When you run the 93, 91 or 87 tune, do you run that gas in it as well with it?

OP says " I've been running 93 gas for over a year now."

Just thinking out loud here.

Are you running a brand gas (Mobil, Sunoco)or the local stuff (Bob's gas and go)?

You're in Ohio, do they run a lot of ethanol in the fuel there?

I have Hemifever's tuner too. If I run local gas it'll ping on the 91/93 tune, but with national brands it won't. It really likes the 93 I get at Shell.

Been mostly Giant Eagle's Get Go brand 93 which is "up to" 10% ethanal.

I just tried a local station with 0 ethanal, 100% gasoline and it made it worse. So when that burns out I'll go back to Get Go for the 93.

Might add some octane booster to what's in there now to try and help.
