Default U guys's thoughts?

http://www.gfchips.com/dodgeram1500.aspx

So I was milling around smartly, and come across this ad here on DF. I want to get everyone's opinion on this product and opinions on a simple plug in chip in general. Now I've owed an 07 Cummins and the bully dog programmer I put on it was just about the best decision I ever made. And ONE DAY my new '99 might get the gaser version. So opinions on plug in chips and programmers for gasoline engines, good idea or bad?

I think the general consensus here is to get an SCT Tuner from HemiFever and a 180TStat. It's cost's more then $69 but the basic one comes with 3 tunes and will erase the factory programming that sucks the life out of the truck.

Also, some people have seen a MPG gain after tuning, if, they can keep their foot out of it.

Snake oil. The claims are bogus, and I highly doubt ANYTHING they have to say. NOTHING that hooks up with two wires is going to deliver what they are advertising. If it were that easy, they would come from the factory that way.

Tricks the PCM into thinking colder air charge so it dumps more fuel. Decrease MPG...bad enough already, who would want to do that and risk or pre-ignition or detonation. No thanks I'll keep my SCT.

all that does is tell the IAT that more air is coming in so you dump more fuel. Your PCM relearns after about 200 miles because they end up going by the O2 sensors rather than the IAT. At some point the O2 sensors override.

You can fool your PCM...for a while, until your O2 Sensors plead their case!!!
