Exclamation ABS/ Brake issue = Wheel Bearing?

So, after tirelessly searching to no avail, I gueess I'm the first to post about this issue? Anyways...

So back in April, I went on leave and bought My truck (See Sig.) and I did my services on it, of course. (Oil, Oil Filter, PCV, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, etc.) And everything was good. But every once in a while, when I hit the brakes, it'll act like the ABS is going off, and do that shudder thing like it's pumping the brakes. It's good on fluid, no leaks, just... that. I'd say it does it every 1 in 12 times.... I just thought it was because of the oversize tires messing with the controller. But, when I got back to Germany, one of my Dodge buddies said that it was the front wheel bearings causing this problem. No ABS lights are on or come on (They do at startup, so I know the bulb is good.) Anyone else have this issue?

I think your best bet would be to take it some place that has a scanner capable of reading ABS codes. See if there are any stored codes. You can also try this and see what if anything comes up. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...code-list.html

Raise the front and check the wheel bearings. Also try that key trick for the codes.

Key trick won't pull ABS codes. Need a reader for those, and I don't think the parts stores can/will pull 'em either.

Gonna have to wait a year, he is on deployment until he comes back and can actually see his truck. Maybe he can take a look when he cets back for mid tour leave.

He probably won;t see these replies for another few days. I wan only on the computer every 3 or 4 days.

Unfortunately, I'll be heading back to Germany for R&R, so it'll be the full year... Only 318 days to go! But thanks for all the advice. I wasn't sure what to think with the wheel bearing thing, but I suppose it's possible if it making the axle wobble... When I get back I'm going to do a fuller service on it, since I'll have more time. Axle bearings and seals (both axles), diff fluid change, Trasfer Case Fluid Change, Tranny Flush/refill/band adj. ,Radiator flush, plenum fix, all new brakes, new water pump, new radiator hoses, etc...
