1996 Ram Magnum 2500 PTO?
First off, please forgive me if this post is in the wrong section. I attempted to post in the 2nd gen DIY section and was denied access. I recently purchased a 96 ram 2500 4x4 with the 5.9 L engine. My first dodge and so far I absolutely love her. While inspecting the engine compartment I came across an electrical lead that's labeled PTO (power take off). This truck is my first 4x4 and I dont know alot about power take off stuff. I crawled under the truck to inspect the transfer case in hopes that I would find some kind of power shaft related to the PTO. I didnt find anything that looked like it would be that but then again I dont know exactly what to look for. Can any of yous guys shed some light on this subject for me and tell me how to access the PTO if I even have it? Thanks

PTO was an option. So the factory just wired it in. For more info about your truck, order a build sheet. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

Well, interestingly enough, my 98 1500 also had that pigtail. And so does my 2000 2500. And the 2000 is the HD 8800 gvw version. Just an option, no big deal really. I have not seen one person on DF with a PTO on the TC.

Should be a plate the comes off on the side of the T-case, and then some additional parts bolt on there. You could look in the parts manual to see exactly which parts..... Not sure how much luck you will have finding them though, I haven't seen a single dodge truck with a PTO.....
