Default Help with steering column

Got a broken clock spring in my column and need a new one. new one is wayyy spend, so i found one at a JY (whole column, airbag, key..etc..) for 75 bucks. Its out of a 1997 with all the same features as mine. will it fit? His book said 94-96 works and 97-98 works but not 97 in a 96... Guessing its due to the OBDII change in 1996. Mine is OBDII made in 7 of 96. So I am guessing it will fit?

You might check the parts manual and see if it lists the same one or different part numbers. Don't know if it will fit or not.

Be careful with the column, that you don't spin the steering wheel. that's what breaks the clockspring....

I don't see why it wouldn't fit...... very little changed from 96 to 97. I would think it would bolt right in.

As far as i know there werent any changes in 96-97 that would make it not work. Everything was pretty much the same until 98 when whole lot changed lol.
