Yeah, I'm kinda **** about things like that. I prefer to avoid wrecks.
That is a good point I never thought about...Your right I rarely drive out in the country in my truck at night... I dont really consider my lights very bright in the dodge compared to my other vehicles... My Toyota is much brighter... and If I have the gps on it worse even in night mode...
Then again with so many rednecks with HID's in there factory headlight housings blinding me it doesnt matter much about my pupils adjusting...

Video of the rear lights

I want to replace the rear red lights with the spider LEDs or ones with more LEDs. I also need to do the front turn signals.

That all looks good Wermbag, however, I'd much rather have the ability to dim my lights. That's just my opinion. I'm not doggin' on you.

I would love to have a functioning underhood light, and one powered with a LED would be a bonus.

@wermbang what color and type of led's did you use? that IC does look a bit bright. i don't know if led lights will work up front. on my trucks i have never had any luck installing led's up front. when i would turn my lights on the the dash turn signal light would come on and stay on for the the side that had the LED light installed.

In person its not that bad at all. They are ones that have 4 leds out the side then a high power on the top. For the turns to work properly need to install resistors

here is the dash with old bulbs
Stock vs LEDs (old ones that have been replaced) notice the hot spots

For the underhood light mine is hooked up to the stock one, so it goes on and off as normal. Just needed to put the wires on the correct side.

That's because you need a load resistor on the circuit or you need a special flasher relay.

EDIT:I did a quick search and didn't come up with the flasher relays so it looks like the resistor is the only option.

That's one of my next purchases, They make direct replacements for the OEM bulb but vary few have the diodes pointed in the right direction. They are around $10 and need the contacts rotated 90*, I can't tell you I'm 100% positive they would fit even with the contacts corrected until I try one.

i could understand needing one of those if you had leds front and rear but i only tested a led in one socket at a time to see what it looked like. when i tested it in the one of the front sockets the turn signal light in the IC would turn on for the side i installed the led light when i turned the marker or headlights on even with the turn signals off. now when i install them in the rear everything worked correct except that they where not bright enough to be safe.
