LEDs are cheap ordered through Ebay from Hong Kong compared to what you can buy in the parts store however not all of them are worth anything and shipping is incredibly slow. I'm posting all my 2nd gen dodge ram Ebay LED purchases here and my short reviews on them, please feel free to do the same.

First off, these bulbs cannot be used in the running/brake/signal position on the rear, they don't light at all. They also are to big to fit in the housing without trimming the housing. They do however work in the reverse light position and are by my guess 15% brighter than stock replacements but still requires trimming of your housing.

Awesome for the license plate lamp application, only one diode is pointed in the right direction but that is all it takes, its much brighter than everyone's on the road, I am not able to compare brightness to stock because I didn't have any when I bought the truck.

I do not know about hacking up expensive parts to look cool.
Sylvania makes damn good tough bulbs that fit and last long IMO.

Just an FYI to you feller's wanting to do LED's...there not dimmable. So keep that in mind when you place your order.

 

i have led lights installed in my IC and i like them. i have the white ones and i left the stock green light filters in and it almost comes out blue in color. i have also tried yellow leds and it almost give it the stock color.

i agree about the led running/brake/signal light bulbs. i have not found any that do the job right but i have a feeling you would need a yellow or amber light and they all seem way over priced for just 1 bulb. i have stuck a led bulb in as a reverse light and it it works but it is hard to tell if it is any better than a stock bulb. usually i find the brake lights seem to work the best for lighting up behind me when i am backing up at night.

 

It doesn't change the look of the lights, it's not to look cool, its to have brighter, safer, longer lasting lights, a added bonus to the license plate lamp LEDs is that the rubber sockets should last longer with a cooler bulb in them.

 

Are you one of them there people who think god created everything stock for a reason?
LED's have many advantages..last like 20 times longer and use way less juice.... and can take jostling/ shock better without burning out. The one disadvantage is the dimming thing ...Which is no concern to me since I dont ever recal "Dimming " my interior lights... this is something I may consider someday.... thought about doing it in my vette since the specialty bulbs are like $20 a piece last time I replaced them! ouch

 

City boy, huh? When you find yourself out in the country (or on unlit interstate) try adjusting your panel lights to be just dimmer than the near field of your headlights and your distance vision will be improved. It might keep that deer (or angus) off of your hood.
