Little Heat from Heater
yeah thats what the dude said. i figured at first it was just some burning off cause he replaced the t-stat and may have spilled some. but that was 2 weeks ago and im still getting a smell.
The stink does last for a while..... May want to go exploring for leaks anyway....
if there is a leak it must be burning off quick cause it sure isn't hitting the ground. nothing in my carport where it sits or in my parking place at work.
Doesn't take much of a leak to make a lotta stink.
(hey, it rhymes.)
Look on top of the timing cover. if the thermostat, or bypass hose, is leaking a bit, it will collect there, and boil off before it gets a chance to hit the ground. I had the mystery coolant leak for a month or three before it finally started leaving a puddle. Mine turned out to be the freeze plug behind the drivers side motor mount.

I installed a set of these on mine. Not only do they help with exterior odors, but they keep dirt, pine needles and such out of the heater box. The junk that gets in there, is IMO, is responsible for evap and heater core failure. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....r=CFF-DG-0610K
Thanks for the info.. I know for a fact that as soon as I flush it, and lets face it.. its nasty in there.. I WILL find out why it was in there.. I got a little more heat than normal today, but its also 60 degree's outside.. Go figure. lol.. Soon as I get another good day, Ill flush the whole system.. and hope to hell the leak isnt anything major! =\
