i don't know how the fresh air intakes are on the newer trucks but on the older trucks they tend to get filled with debris and if it sit long enough it can start smelling. i know on newer cars there is usually a in cab filter.

You might (probably do) have mold/fungus/some new life form living in your HVAC housing. The best way to fix that is to crack the thing open, scrape out the biologicals, treat with bleach or some antibacterial or fungicidal chemical, and figure out why water is collecting in there to provide a hospitable environment for the unwelcome life form. It could be a plugged drain tube or a leaky heater core.

get a can of Lysol spray, with a smell you can tolerate. I like "fresh linen".

open the doors and leave them open. turn on the ac with fresh air intake so its sucking in outside air through the cowl area of the passenger side. spray a generous amount of lysol into the cowl. you'll see it getting sucked in. repeat several times and do this regularly to kill/eliminate the mold and mildew.

Also make sure the AC drain hole is not plugged.

Put a hound dog under your truck.. learn to know the difference between the sound of trailing and treeing.. if that hound bays treed, suspect coons...

I don't know what it is about coons and these trucks.. you're not the first, dude..

It could be plugged by a missing sock!
