heat doesn't blow hot

when you flushed the heater core, did you just push water thru once and only one way? You have to force water thru it back and forth both ways and several times to get some of it out, Also just because you have flow in one and out the other doesn't mean much. all the runners in the core could still be plugged up, and if they are it goes in one tube across and out the other, not thru the whole core. think of it like your radiator. example Take the bottom hose off and put water in it. it goes straight out the bottom, not thru the tubes first. I have spent 20 minutes or more on some cores to get them clean enough to get good heat. I also use a big clean drain pan to flush it into so i can see if i am getting anything out of it. I also like the idea of cleaner sitting in it for a while, then flushing. I dont disagree with poss door not working either but this is easiest thing to do.

I am having the same problem with my 01 ram. I cant figure it out. all hoses are hot going to and from my heater core. radiator is full with no leaks that im aware of. actuator replaced and working when changing from hot and cold. blend door working. replaced ac/heater motor with no change. not sure what else i should try??

I had the blend door stuck on mine... hadn’t used heat for a long time and the deteriorating blend door seal had stuck to the case... after many times of cycling the switch back and forth it eventually broke free... followed by a cloud of foam crumbs out the vents.

I eventually pulled the dash and rebuilt everything.

​​​​​​What did you use for the foam? Did you upgrade to the metal doors that heater treater sells?

No, I cleaned the stock door and used 1/2”x1/4” adhesive backed high density closed cell foam (Weather stripping from Amazon, or big-box stores).

Ahh I remember now. I might tear into my HVAC box this year but might put it off until next year
