Default heat doesn't blow hot

The heat in my 2001 dodge ram no longer blows out hot. It does blow out warm though. I checked the hoses for the heater core and both are hot so, I don't know why the heat won't come out any hotter than it does. I am thinking that maybe the the cold air doesn't get turned off completely and mixes with the hot air from the heater core? Any ideas?

Because the heater core is clogged, it only takes a few tubes to be clogged. Try flushing it and see if that helps.

That would make sense seeing as I emptied out the rad and put new coolant in that was clear and now I just checked the bottle and the coolant is foggy. So, to flush the core do I just disconnect both hoses and spray a hose into one of the ports?

Okay, so I flushed out the heater core and and water came blasting out the other so I know it is clean in there. I then hooked everything back and up and drove the truck for 10 minutes to make sure the coolant would would get hot from the engine but it still comes out warm? I am thinking that the flap that opens and closes when you turn the air from hot to cold is not closing all the way.

Pull the little motor for the blend door, and see if the coupler in there is broke. (heatertreater.net has a fix.)

+1 what HeyYou said to check. But, if it's not that. You can still have what appears to be good flow from the core when you flush it, but it can still be clogged.

That's true. The heater core is akin to a bottle, with two pipes into the lid. It may flow really well, but, the bottom may be full of junk, so, no heat transfer there. Chemical flush?

I tried all that with my 98( and flow appeared fine), core replacement fixed it. But of course, the 98 didn't have one of those nifty little electric motors.
