currently it is running fine, the oil bearings are loose so when the oil heats up the oil when i stop will drop in pressure. but right now looking for tips to make sure i don't spend as much as i have on tranny to just get onto the open road and blow the engine from sitting there.

I'd do an oil change and put a quart of the Lucas stuff in it for now

As the trucks been sitting for awhile I would give it a oil and filter change, then using a mechanical oil pressure tester check the oil psi. The oil pressure sending units are not that great on these trucks it might just be the problem.

For the oil pressure test you will remove the oil pressure sending unit, found at the back of the motor beside the dizzy a real pita to get to, you will need a special socket to remove it. Next using a oil pressure test gauge start the motor and see what results you get.

For a fuel additive try Chevron Techron in the bottle.

Example of a test kit. http://www.harborfreight.com/engine-...kit-98949.html
