Electric water pump isn't a good idea for a street driven vehicle..... doesn't move a lotta volume, and takes just as much power to run as the mechanical feller... just comes from a different source. Also works the alternator harder, shortening its lifespan.
+1. I would only run an ewp on a track only vehicle. It's nice to run the pump with the engine off to cool down between runs. A good water pump for our trucks is only around $50.
Fwiw, I work with a dude who runs a 02 5.9 oil burner, well over 800 ponies and over a grand of the twisties.. he runs an e pump.. I've no clue why, but he does. He recently had BIG injectors issues, but no wp issues.
