Default Clogged CAT?!?!?

Hello all,
So I am in the works of finishing up my Plenum gasket/plate repair. I noticed during this my EGR Transducer/Solenoid was blown (Melted) out. I also noticed the Plug wires that run back there had the plastic sleeves melted off some of them. I am going to replace the solenoid and the EGR Valve but wanted to know if my assumption might be correct. I was thinking thanks to Plenum Gasket failure I clogged my CAT then my EGR was recirc'd such hot exhaust it melted/blew out my solenoid???

Has anyone cleaned the EGR valve with success? I looked at it and wasn't sure if it is worth it or how I would even go at it...

Thanks for your time!

I would just replace the egr valve......

You can have the cat pressure tested once you have the truck running again. Any exhaust shop should be able to do it for you.
