Default Computer program that will...

Does anyone know if there computer software that I can put on my computer and hook up to the truck to change the parameters and settings in the vehicle computer?
I have alot of engine work done (cams, headers, heads, intake, throttle body, exhaust, hot box, intakes) I have a hypertech in there now but it's not cutting it. My horsepower should be at about 4 - 4 1/4 and i am NO where near that.

SCT is the way to go if you want to be able to change settings in your computer.

SCT along with it's pro-racer tuning software (which isn't cheap last time I checked), or go standalone and tune via laptop in realtime like I do

Hean (Hemifever) told me that the software was about 450 bucks. AND you need the SCT to upload the codes.

The worst that can happen: You run too lean and blow your engine.

There is a reason they call it the PROFESSIONAL racer package.

You are better off getting the canned tune for 275. If you get a lot more mods (at least heads and/or cam) then you pay 350 bucks and hemifever sends you unlimited tunes to dial it in based on the specs you send him.

I would say YES to the pro racer software, but only if you had a test truck, not your DD.

+ howevermany on the SCT. But the canned tunes are not what you are needing with a lot of mods. Contact Sean at hemifever and tell him what mods you have. He will give you a tune for your truck.

Hell, an MS2 runs $250, add another $100 for the harness and sensor stuff. Need a wideband for either option. And it's way more powerful than the stock junk and can be tuned on the fly. Anyone with a modicum of tuning knowledge will not blow up their engine.

Does the MS2 connect to PCM or does it replace it?

It replaces it. Or it can run along side the stock PCM controlling fuel only like I'm currently doing. I'm strongly considering switching to EDIS ignition controlled with MS2. It can also control other outputs, mine controls my electric fan, no expensive external controller needed.

Hans, I am giving some thought to installing a newer fuel injcted engine in one of my projects. Would you recommend MS for this? Nothing like recing, just daily driving on occasion. Just want reliability. If it works I may condider redoing the controls on an old Jag (88 Vanden Plas) - factory electronics in it are all over the place and can only be accessed with jaguar computer (I am told).
