Default Odessa = Clearwater.....Answer is....

Just thought I would post this bit of information since I now know the answer. I'm replacing my heads on my 5.9 and was comparing Odessa and Clearwater.

Called Keith from Odessa and was quoted $552 for a pair of new heads shipped to my door. Turned right around and called Patrick from Clearwater and was quoted $590. I then asked him if he was associated with Odessa. He told me that Odessa was a sister company, in the same building and he was looking at Keith at that moment. I asked "what was the difference in the heads?" Patrick told me that when the economy was heading south, they started offering the same heads with only a 2 year warranty instead of the standard 5 year to help sales.

So at the end of the day Odessa = Clearwater. The difference is for $38 you get a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty instead of 2.

Wow, that is good info. Props. For 38 bucks I'm sure I know what a lot of people here are going to do in the future.

Yep, I plan on keeping this truck for years to come so I ponied up the extra $38. Cool thing about clearwater is that included in the price is a prepaid UPS label for the return of your old heads. Put the old ones in the box the new ones came in, slap the label on and drop it by UPS. Not a bad deal for new complete heads.

I dont really like bringing up old threads but its tax time!

Anyways I was wondering if you had a link for those cleaewater heads?
I tried looking on the site but found nothing for my ram.
reason being my driverside head has been ticking since I got the truck and its driving me nuts!
And I figure for $600 I can have the assurance of a 5 year warranty

Here's their EBay page. Prices seem to have gone up a bit though.
