I need help my reverse lights do not work at all. I have trace the wire back to the fuse box, I have power going through the fuse just not through the rest of the truck. I want to make sure I am looking at the right part when I am looking for the neutral safety switch. Does anyone have an image of it for a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4

It's right below where the shift linkage attaches to the trans. Provided you have an auto....

Yeah its an auto.... all the images I have been able to look at with neutral safety switches they are constructed of at least some type of metal on them, the one that is on my truck looks completely plastic.. I spoke with a guy at the local auto parts and he said he was a trany mechanic for 14 years and only replaced two of these switches during this time. Totally talked me out of buying one.

Test the switch. Make sure you are getting power TO it, and see if you are getting power THRU it in reverse. (block wheels, key on, engine OFF.)
