As stated above, it stutters and sorta misfires and wont shift right away... all gears it does this. But once it changes the gear it will run normal... Thinking its some type of sensor. Or clogged cat. I have true dual exhaust, 2 flow master 40s and 2 cats. I failed emissions in my area 4x over legal limit. I don't have access to a thermal temp gauge to check inlet and outlet of cat and i don't want to drill holes either. The cats are welded in.Maybe a trans service will do.Also if i rev it in neutral or park it will drop rpms to nearly nothing 250 rpm or totally die..Just recently fixed a major misfire, auto zone salesman gave me the wrong plugs.input please...

 

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Start it back up, see if it wants to run any better.

If it doesn't, disconnect front O2 sensor, take it for a drive, see if it runs any better.

 

Well i can try the battery...but for the 02 sensor... there is none. the computer is fooled to run without them. That's how i bought the truck. there's no bungs even for a 02 on my exhaust..

 

That may be a problem.....

Do you have O2 simulators in the plugs instead? If you do, yank it. See what happens.

ive been running the truck for 1.5 years without this problem....Just recently. Not sure, ill have to pull it up on the lift and look

 

Lifts are for whimps. Crawl under there and have a look see. Front O2 sensor connector should be about halfway back on the trans, right on top...... if there is a sim plugged in there, should be evident.

Side Note: I am going tomorrow to the shop to attempt to fix a slow leak in a tire. And yes, I am going to put it up on the lift. Yep. I'ma whimp.

 

once you have it on a lift you will never go back... i even change my oil on the lift. just easier. haha.

 

Oh, I am well aware of the convenience of having a lift.

I pay someone else to change my oil though..... Oil changes around here can be had for 20 bucks at a shop I actually trust...... which is CHEAPER than what I can do it for, and I DON'T have to do it in my driveway. I get to sit back, and watch the tube, or read a book while it happens. It's like magic.

 

Ya but it is not easy to find a shop you trust, at least in sOuth Florida. I've had bad experiences with three shops, maybe they just don't trust a kid who shows up with mud still caked on the truck lol
