Adding another2-3in of lift to my truck(3in now) i have an adj track bar and built my own sway bar drop bracket. looking at building my own control arms to go with the added lift. Any ideas how much longer or shorter they need to be?

Depends if you are going to use the stock control arm brackets on the frame. If you are, then increase the length such that the axle is centered in the wheel well. Use plumb lines.

you should make long arms, you would be much happier.

I'm pilfering this info b/c I'll be doing this myself. I'd say hell no to heim joints. They won't last, especially considering your abuse.

Johnny Joints from Currie Enterprises:

step 1. order parts.
step 2. cut pipe to length.
step 3. insert bungs
step 4. weld bungs
step 5. insert bushings/instal joints and bushings into sleeves or whatever part you ordered.
step 6. adjust for caster/camber. .

Approximate reference lengths --

3" Lift - 1/2" Longer than stock.
6" Lift - 1" Longer than stock.

Your truck told me so.

Helo Maxx 6

But they'll be going away for 8-lug big brothers due to project later this year.
