OK. I cannot stand it any longer!

An alternator will not cause transmission problems. Can't , won't doesn't. Quit listening to ANYONE that says it will. They do not know what they are talking about.

Regarding alternator and 75, or 1000 amps...(wait for it....electrical engineering experience here) your alternator will not show 75, 100, or 136 amps at 1000 rpm, 2000 rpm, 3000 rpm, or at red line. It will have 0.0 amps at any rpm - until you put an electrical load on it.

My advice would be to go back and re-read the responses related to the transmission ONLY. It will most likely be something along the line of band adjustment, solenoids, fluid, or worn clutches.

I have been traveling for work.....wearing my donkey out, and I gotta hit the road again Sunday evening. I am getting too old for this s***. Wanted to start painting Ram today, but too cold and windy! Sorry I wasn't here to get your back, but I could not stand it any longer as I read from first post. My greatest pet peave is asking for advice and then ignoring it.....just saying....

Still have no answer to the questions I have asked. Is the plug in the pic the plug that i have to disconnect to check for that sensor / noid problem?

And what should the alt put out at 2000 rpm like they tested it at the parts store?

It's the black plug in this pic. In your pic, it's kinda hidden behind stuff.

Thanks HeyYou! Mine was so packed with crud it looked like part of the transmission. Got it off and took it for a ride shifting was good didnt go over 40mph but it was right around 2k rpm @ 40mph. The check engine light came on when unplugged as expected but everything seems good so are these the parts that i should get:

One is first design, the other is second design. Borg Warner? makes a heavy duty unit, that comes really recommended, as it is much less prone to clogging, like yours are doing.

No the first is the sensor/ transducer and the second pic is the solenoid. Any links to the one you are referring to?
