Governor pressure sensor
The pic i'm talking about is the one posted in this thread. You can clearly see the switches mount differently. I went through this same thing when I swapped my 98 tranny into the 2000. I just swapped the gov body over. Which is why I don't know if the older gov body will accept the 2000 switch.
I got a 99 Dakota sport 3.9 with the 46re automatic with 220,000+ miles. I have to reverse checked pan was clean fluid was clean goes into drive good but when trying to go in reverse nothing except when it's cold you can somewhat hear it trying to catch but after a couple minutes the sound is gone.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with 5.2 L v8 46RE transmission.....shifting problems ??? I can get in start it up and drive it shifts fine ....the min i stop for what ever reason a car , stop sign and then go it gets to 15 mph when i push the gas it revs up to about 3000 rpms and wont accelerate. Shut the truck off for about 20 seconds , turn it back on and drive it shifts through all the gears until i have to stop again then it does the whole 15 mph 3000 rpms wont go until you restart the truck . i have two dodges and they are my firsts i usually drive a chevy and have never had this problem ....anyone know whats up ? governor pressure solenoid is being replaced is there any other thing i should look at before i call an exorcist ?
