That's just a spare vacuum port. Someone got creative at plugging it. Mine has a cap on it.

Yeah, get a proper cap. You can buy an assortment of sizes from the zoner. Any you aren't the only one that can fit in b/t the engine and radiator.

That's a one manpower engine if I've ever seen one.. or, there is a vagrant living the life of luxury under there.. maybe ask him what he did to your vacuum hose?

Yeah that guy is huffing fumes from the extra vacuum port. That's what is causing my wild vents...he huffs harder when the truck is climbing a hill.

Things must have really changed between '95 and '01, on my truck the hose that's plugged on his truck is the hose for the PCV valve...
