Default supension and brake upgrade

Ive read several threads about this and i plan on doing the 2500 brake upgrade with some steel lines. I am also going to be replacing some steering components while im at it. Truck is a 97 ram 1500 with close to 300,000 miles on it. Ive looked at some of the kits on ebay and they are running around $175 or so...then i look at a bushing kit on summit racing and those are arond $200 what gives...whats the difference? should i do a cheap ebay kit of just a bushing kit?(i have about 3" of wheel play) Im also going to be replacing the hub assemblies while im at it.
guess what i really need are some links to products that others have used or recommend for SS lines...calipers...bushing kit (if thats the route i should take)...hubs

Also...I have 36" tires on it with a 4" suspension lift and 3" body to even it out. is something like this going to make a difference for me?

Thanks for reading!

BTW im trying to do this for around $750 or less if possible.

Steering stabilizer sure won't hurt. If you still have the stock one on there, it is more than likely toast.

Get the 2500 light duty calipers from your local parts store. Pick up 2500 pads as well.

Check your steering box, I am going to guess with your mileage, that is where most of your slop is.

What bushing kits?? Link?

Ah, ok. Yeah, doing all the bushings sure won't hurt ya. It can be fun though...... they can be a bear to get out, right along with the bolts on the front control arms.

I got 197k on my 1500 and I did the cheap brake upgrade. Put the 1-ton chevy wheel cylinders on and got new stock rotors for the front then changed out the calipers for the 8800 GCVW. The brake upgrade was one of a few upgrades that was worth the time and money.

At 300,000 miles, bushings may indeed need replacing. But as HeyYou stated, check for play in seteering gearbox as well as checking the idler arm and pitman arm for slack. I rebuilt my gearbox and put in new tie rod ends, idler and pitman recently (134,000 miles) and it made a world of difference.
