Exclamation Trans Question

So an unusual problem has been occurring.. After taking a hard right hand turn on a slope from stop.. lol .. the truck will not shift out of first. (had to sit on the side of the road for a few mins to go agian) The fluid is nice and red and at the bottom of the safe mark with the transmission warm and with it running in drive. No codes or transmission light..

Can anyone shed some light??

Not sure what you mean bu "running in drive." Did you check trans fluid with trans in Neutral?

When you said it would not shift out of first, were you in D? Why did you have to sit on the side of the road? Did it die, would it not go into gear?

no i checked the fluid in drive with the parking brake on.

yes i was in drive and it would go into reverse also.

I was sitting on the side of the road because it would not shift out of first after turning from a stop at this specific corner/stop

OK. For starters, check the fluid in Neutral. That's the only way you can check it (properly).

So when you start off in Drive, does it seem to start in Drive without going through 1st, and 2nd?

Will it work correctly if you put it in 1st to begin, then manually shift to 2nd, and then D? If you have not tried this, give it a shot and let us know. You may be in limp mode....but that should not effect reverse.

Sounds like low fluid level to me, but it could also be a loose filter. Pump took up air that made its way into the valve body.

A similar question came up many, many moons ago on an episode of Car Talk.

Sounds to me like a bad or clogged Governor Solenoid. It's fine until you drive and things are heating up and flowing(classic Gov Solenoid symptoms). So you think it's because of turning.

Update: A code finally showed

forgot# but- Governor Pressure Sensor Voltage To High or To Low

Went to local parts store and no Sensor?

Picked up a bottle of +4 to see if the fluid level is causing the problem.. have not put in yet but I will post results!
