Default where is TPS sensor located

i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 ext cab 4x4. im getting rpm surging while cruise is on, people say replace the TPS sensor, where is this located on my 5.9 gasoline engine? also my 4x4 light comes on sometime like a loose wire, and if i hit a bump it will go back off, its not engaging in 4 wheel drive, its just the light comes on, maybe loose wire? any ideas? thanks.

TPS is on the left side (driver) of the throttle body.

4x4 light, start with checking wiring and connections.

Some people have said the champion rc12yc are good, and someone said something about NGK. ive never been a big fan of autolite!

Do yourself a favor and download the free 2001 FSM from the FAQ/DIY section. And read the entire FAQ/DIY section while your in there. Get a Haynes manual as well. You'll be amazed at all the info in there. As far as the 4wd light goes, you may possibly have a vacuum leak. Check the electrical connector as stated, and check this out also. http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/repair/..._engagment.htm

Autolite has always worked fine for me. Our trucks hate the platinum, iridium, and other such nonsense.

I've changed my thoughts on that. "do a search" is for people that have been here a short while and should know better. Newb's get a free pass, "once".
