Default 1995 Dodge 1500 running higher than normal rpms in OD??

Hey ive been noticing that my truck is running bout 2000 at 60mph where it normally would run bout 1600-1700rmps. and yes it is in OD. My truck is a 1995 dodge 1500 with 5.9 and i have 35'' tires that have been on the truck long before problem started. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Solenoid is probably bad. It's replaced as a set along with the overdrive solenoid. Rumor has it you don't have to drop the valve body...... just the trans pan, and filter... (changing filter as well really wouldn't be a bad plan.)

Better than rumor. pretty easy. "If I can do it........"

Go to FAQ/DIY section and download swrvice manual. Go to tranny section.

Don't ask me how I know....butif you overfill the tranny with fluid, it will come out of a vent hole at the top of the pump plate. Look under tranny where the TC cover plate is. Probably see fluid dripping from there.

(caution - when reading FSM to find fluid capacity, remember - a pint is not equal to a quart....just saying...)

+1 on gdstock. Lets just say I too have seen this magical phenomenon called tranny fluid fountain, although not near as dramatic as I make it sound but you get the idea. But R2 the sol's are easy with the manual.

That happened to me right before my torque converter blew up and left shrapnel in the valve body... If you checked the fluid in nuetral and are sure its ok I would take it to a tranny shop before the repair bill doubles like mine did from waiting...
