I worked for a small town that had a 1 ton plow/salt truck and we just bungee strapped them standing up to the headache rack/cab protector and it worked very well. Easy access, quick detach, and out of the way. Sometimes simple is easier.

 

my truck is too tall to bungee it to the back rack. besides, i dont like to block my rear window. i know a couple shovels wont block much, but my eyesight isnt the greatest, and i use every mirror and window to watch where im going.

 

going to get the tension clips this afternoon! cant wait to get this project finished so i can start on my next one!
