1999 dodge ram 1500 3.9liter v6 Clanking noice
Hello All,
Maybe You can help me my truck is making a weird clanking noise coming from the pully system it gets louder as you accelerate. It sounds almost like its coming from the idle arm or maybe the water pump? anyone had this strange sound before?

another good way to locate the source of a noise is to use a short pipe about 2 feet long as a stethoscope. pvc or conduit works good. BEWARE of moving parts. place one end on engine and put your ear to the other. follow the noise.
WATCH OUT FOR BELTS and positive battery cable. both will hurt you.
