2001 ram 1-2 cold shifting problems

Default 2001 ram 1-2 cold shifting problems

hey guys question i have an 01 ram 1500 5.2 and when the truck is "cold" ill go to take off down the road at a slow pace and the tranny slips "bucks" in 1-2 gears no other problems with the other gears and when the truck reaches operating temps it doesnt do it anymore any ideas? fluid is good just had it flushed but the filter is still the old one other than that nothing has been done to it when i bought it they said that the tranny had been rebuilt and a shift kit put in but never verified this didnt know how without dropping the tranny which is a bitch any input would be awesome thanks guys

Bad idea......

I would drop the pan, change the fluid and filter there, have a look at the governor pressure sensor and solenoid, and maybe even adjust the bands.

Flushing is known to be a bad idea....and leaving the old filter there is probably the only way to make it worse.

+1 on HeyYou's recommendation about changing fluid, filter and checking gove solenoid and pressure sensor. Maybe even replace.
