I still think it could be the plenum gasket but the codes didn't reveal that. Maybe also the catalytic converter is bad.

You don't have a mass air flow sensor.

No codes will show a bad plenum. Only two ways to check it. Remove the thing or take the TB off and look inside with a mirror and flashlight.
