Angry PLENUM Done-Loss of pep????

I just picked up my truck. Had hughes plenum kit installed, new thermostat and housing (it was shot) throttle body cleaned, new gaskets etc.

I started it up and it idled funny. When I took off, I noticed it DID NOT have the pep on the low end that is usually does. Is this normal?? I understand the plenum is not a performance mod, but how could I lose power? Is it normal to idle funny?

Pissed off and confused-

No and No. It should idle better and no loss of pep.

I wonder if they disconnected battery to reset PCM. Also wonder baout routing of plug wires and if they got all the vacuum hoses connected.

Did they so anything to the dist cap? I had the same problem when I replaced my intake cuz when I did the cap at the same time I had misplaced the 4 & 3 wires.

I know the battery was disconnected bc my stereo didn't retain stations...is there a way to check if wires are run correctly?

plenum is probably blown..replace it ..
Seriously though... check your injector connections you may have one or more injectors not firing the connectors are finicky..... also check for leaks by spraying starting fluid carb cleaner or WD40 arounf the gaskets...(WD40 is likely safer...)

Judging from yourr first post, I assume you had someone else do it. I would take it back and make them fix it.

Yes, I had a local garage do it. I wanted to be armed with info before I go in there and put them on the spot and get a "this is normal until the new parts break in" routine. Or some other nonsense that they could try to get me outta there with.

I appreciate the responses.

Nice one Auggie....
