Just read the pages...
Do How about a vaccuum test and scan the truck. If the light was flashin you should have a "Soft code" in your computer. Even though the engine ligt is not on the scanner will see the problem in memory codes. It may say Bank one Lean or cylind "X" misfire etc etc
That should give you something to work with.

It also depends on the temperature of the environemnt in which you live. If you live in alaska you bet your **** you dont wanna use something that thick. I use 10W30, I live in Pa.

Are you sure it doesn't sound like there is a vacuum leak? (motor sucking in extra air)

Good point, I Had a compression test done, all are good. Basicly, the only vacuum line that is broken is the one that goes to my cruise control. (I Don't use it anyways) But i dont think this can cause the issue can it? but otherwise, everythings good besides the plenum (Witch i have confirmed to be leaking) and the oil pump. So wtf is it missfiring for?

Fix the vacuum line to the CC and I bet the cat is getting clogged.

The vaccuum leak COULD BE the plenum. That would take care of your vacuum problems.
