Oil Pressure Sensor
Well I just finished up my plenum gasket last night and I started it up and I had no oil pressure reading on the gauge so I shut it off quickly
. The oil pressure sensor on the 5.9s is by the distributor correct? I am guessing that I might have nicked a wire or something. Any other things I can test or look for to eliminate or fix this?
Thanks
Thanks
If I pinched it I am guessing I have to remove the whole intake again. Another thing I failed to mention was that when I turn the key the gauge moves a little but once it is started there is no pressure. How big of a PITA will it be to replace the sensor with the intake still on? And I thought I was going to be trouble free.
Trouble is always free.
With the right socket, shouldn't be too much of an ordeal to change the sensor.
Find the problem, take it from there. You might get lucky, and be able to just yank the wires out from under whatever pinched them, if that's the case. If you find that to be so, re-torque in intake bolts.

Again thanks HeyYou for the help. What are the chances something got clogged up from some debris I might have missed (which I don't think is any). Or is this wire most likely going to be the cause of my problem?
If you can't find any wiring issues, pick up a cheap mechanical gauge, and screw it in there, and see what that one thinks is going on. If you really DON'T have oil pressure, drop the pan, and see what's up.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wasn't just a simple little wiring issue though.
