Ok i bought a trans came out of 2000 durango 5.2 .And now my trk dies when i put it n revers and idles rough in neutral and drive and when i give it gas it starts to bck fire threw the exhaust and throttle bdy.So i changed the crankshaft sensor and the dist cap and hooked up on a computer and it show the crankshaft sensor is nt working . Any ideas?

I take that it was running ok before trans swap?.....the CKP sensor gets it feed from the flywheel, if the flywheel is bent or distorted it would cause a firing problem

 

Tyvm are talking about the flex plate and yes it was running befor the trans swap.so would the TQ make it out of time if it came off of a 5.9

there's some stuff about 5.2 vs 5.9 and internal balance vs external balance and i don't know if the 5.2 TC and 5.9 TC are same or different?

but if you've got no signal from crank position sensor, that's what needs to be looked at. i thought? that if there was signal from crank, it would trigger and ASD shutdown??

do you have the old TC to compare to?
