Check with the dealer, or, any places that sells/installs trailer hitches in the area. If there is a simple plug-in solution, someone will have it. Do you need seven, or four pin connector?

They are pretty easy to just splice in..... if you are unable to find something that just plugs in.

Where would I splice them to? Just the wires that go to the brake lights on the truck?

They make several different kinds that splice into your existing truck wiring. Usually they are spliced into your rear light wiring. Most of the packages will have the wiring diagram on the box and it's a fairly simple matter of hunting down the right wires under your truck to splice into. With most setups you shouldn't even have to cut any wires, they usually use the quick splice connections that snap on to your existing wiring.

When I got my 01 a couple years ago, mine didn't have the trailer package installed either. What I did is went down to Autozone (or any other chain auto parts store), and in the towing section they sell vehicle-specific "no splice" harnesses by Hopkins. The harness has plugs on each end that plug into each taillight harness. The other end has the 4 way connection. I then went a step further, and bought a 7 way connection to mount near the hitch, and then just plugged the 4 way connection into it, and added wiring for my brake controller and 12V lead.

Here is the harness:

Here is the 7 way plug if you need:

It's very easy to add a 4 pin. Do you need trailer brakes? How much weight are you going to be hauling?

When I got my truck it didn't have a hitch so I pulled one from a junk yard and put it on. I looked under my truck behind the rear bumper and there was a plug with a cover on it that all I had to do was pop off and plug a trailer harness into.
