Default How To Stop Bad Wheel Hop?

2001 2500 w/V10 shortbed.

Have bad wheel hop in the snow and mud. Right now it's the snow. How do I stop this before I break something?

Thanks.

Get a good set of ladder bars and that should solve your problem

Yeah that. Even better, put up some pictures of the said hopping antagonist. Include axle pics and suspension.

This is a stock truck with the 8800gvw package: overload springs, torsion bars front and back, camper tie downs ect. I do think the shocks could be replaced.

Ladder bars huh? Been years since I've heard that term. I'll have to look around for them.

It is the rear axle that's wrapping up.

Well replace the shocks and if that don't seem to help you can do the ladder bars. They aren't to terribly expensive

Gotcha.

I was wondering, do the front axles ever have problems like hop? I see many outfits offering upper and lower control arms.

They just offer those because it's a multi-link design, and people need to replace them sometimes.

Have you given the rear suspension a thorough inspection to make sure you haven't already broken something, causing the problem in the first place?
