Z code in the vin designates a 360 motor. VIN doesn't say doodly squat about trans.

I have a 360 so i guess that what the Z code means. I thought the 8th space in the VIN was the transmission type. I dont have a build sheet for my truck how can i get one? My inspection Is in Maine. He told me the leaking line has to be replaced because maine wont allow anything to pass inspection if it is leaking any fluids. Since the truck wasnt dripping at the time he gave me a sticker and told me to fix it as soon as i can before the tranny goes. most of my truck info is in my sig. 1999 1500 2wdClub cab 5.9 Larime SLT

There is a thread in the faq section with a link to the contact form to get your build sheet.

Eighth digit is engine code.

Anyway..... You have the 46re transmission.... all the v8 1500 2nd gen rams came with it...unless its a manual. No use making a mountain out of a mole hill over vin codes

dodge e-mailed me my build sheet this morning. Thanks for the tip.
I will be getting the tranny line the first of the week. Id like to put it in my self if possiable. Have any of you replaced the entire line? Is it something that can be done on a garage floor with a good amount of tools? If the line goes in with no problems will i have to bleed any air out of the system? Any tips or adivce that will make the job go faster? Maine winters can leave the floor quite cold.
